50 years ago today, tragedy struck when Virginia Patterson Hensley, known to the world as Patsy Cline, musicians Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas, and manager Randy Hughes were killed in a plane crash ninety miles outside of Nashville near Camden, Tennessee. Since then, Patsy continues to be the standard by which all other female Country and Western singers are judged. Many aspire to match her talent but none ever will.
