Boney M. continued touring, with Marilyn Scharbaai taking Liz’ place for a while when Liz was pregnant with her third child. When Liz returned for the second leg of the tour, Marcia left. Bobby Farrell got the group an album deal with a Belgian production team who recorded one solo single with Bobby, “Hoppa Hoppa“, in 1987. Bobby, however, never showed up for the album. Marcia did not know about it, and Maizie who had never sung was not about to start, so Liz ended up recording the album on her own. When completed by 1988 Liz found herself having difficulty signing it. It was first released by Horus Records in Spain. Mega Records in Denmark had signed the album but dropped it after poor sales of the single “Niños De La Playa“. Liz then put the promotion on hold when Hansa released a remix album of Boney M.’s greatest hits in October 1988. Liz reunited with her colleagues for a string of TV performances but tensions ran high, and Liz left in the summer of ’89 when Dureco and Trèma records released her album in the Netherlands and France respectively. In 1993, following the success of Boney M. “Gold“, CMC Records belatedly released the album in Denmark, excluding “Marinero“ but including two previously unreleased tracks, “Sweet Sensation“ and “Scarlet Ribbon“, that Liz had recorded in Farian’s studios in the summer of 1984 when she and Reggie recorded new Christmas tracks for the group. I have gathered all tracks here, including some rare mixes from the Spanish LP, and created the artwork as I would have liked to see it, released on Hansa. Liz’ album was never released in Boney M.’s biggest market, Germany.
