San Diego airport is considered #10 most Extreme Airport due to due to tall buildings, no ILS, marine layer, and terrain on the approach. Pilots have to manually drop their altitude based on distance from the airport. The drop so so steep that ILS doesn't work. Good pilots do it so well and don't think it's an issue at all. Some new pilots either have to go around again or they drop it late, pound onto the runway, and slam on the brakes - I've experienced that a few times. No matter the landing, the sights are beautiful and you can see Coronado bridge at the start, Navy ports, and Coronado Island where the Navy Seals train. I'm not a pilot, I was told this by several that are so excuse any errors in the post. Turn on Captions. Enjoy and comment as you wish.
