This is the parade on Moscow's Red Square devoted to the 64th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, 7 November 1981. This year's parade would see the introduction of a new band layout for the orchestra. 1981 would see the full implementation of the sousaphone (in the back row), and drummers were added to the frontline (spaced in between each fanfare trumpet). 1981 would also see the introduction of a new model ZiL lomousine used for the inspection tour. This model would continue to be used all the way through 2009. Taking the salute is Minister of Defense of the USSR, Marshal of the Soviet Union Dmitriy Ustinov. Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, General of the Army Petr Lushev.
