Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Hit In Crosswalk

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-31-23 11:33 PM LOCATION: Intersection of Knott Ave. and Katella Ave. CITY: Cypress DETAILS: Units from the Cypress Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority were dispatched to a traffic collision just after 11:30 Thursday night. Units responded to the intersection of Knott Avenue and Katella Avenue for a pedestrian that was injured after being struck in a crosswalk. The pedestrian was transported to the UCI trauma center in critical condition. The intersection will be shut down for the next few hours which may impact the morning commute. The Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation. The driver remained on scene and is speaking with investigators.
