Of the Cologne Christmas markets, the Christmas market at Cologne Cathedral is the largest with around five million visitors. It stretches across the Domplatte onto Roncalliplatz and houses 160 pavilions with offers primarily from the craft and international gastronomy sectors. In particular, foreign tourists from Great Britain and the Benelux countries travel here by bus. The Christmas market on the Alter Markt deals with the theme of the brownies, who populate the almost 100 wooden stalls with many small figures. There are different themed lanes that describe the offer; there is, for example, a craft lane where production takes place on site and where visitors participate.
