LightSound is an Arduino-based device that converts light intensity to sound via a light sensor and MIDI board so that blind and visually impaired (BVI) individuals may experience astronomical events like solar eclipses. On July 2, 2019, a total solar eclipse swept across Chile and Argentina, where several LightSound devices were stationed to record and sonify the data (real-time) for BVI individuals. This video plays the sonified data from four of the locations, synchronized with a NASA animation of the eclipse.
