Girl in critical condition after high-school beating

A 15-year-old girl is fighting for her life after another girl repeatedly smashed her head into a concrete floor at school. Footage has emerged of the incident, in which a gang of teens set upon the victim, known only as Kaylee, at Hazelwood East High School on Friday. Kaylee’s attacker slammed her head onto the concrete multiple times, at which point Kaylee appeared to have a seizure. Kaylee remains in hospital, with her family reporting that she has ‘major brain bleeding and swelling and is in critical condition. We will not know the extent of the brain damage that has occurred until she wakes up.’ Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, meanwhile, has called on Kaylee’s attacker, also 15, to be tried as an adult, calling the attack ‘evil and complete disregard for human life,’ while many are calling for an attempted murder charge, and for the attack to be treated as a hate crime.
