Russia’s Defense Ministry has released footage of a kamikaze drone taking out a Ukrainian US-supplied self-propelled gun in Kherson Region. Releasing a statement alongside the footage on Thursday, the ministry reported that reconnaissance efforts had revealed the camouflaged position of a 155 mm М109 Paladin, which was firing on Russian troops. A Lancet UAV was then dispatched, with footage showing the resulting explosion and fireball as the drone hits its target. ‘As a result of the impact of the Lancet loitering ammunition, the enemy self-propelled gun was destroyed,’ said the ministry. According to reports, the Lancet drone costs around 3 million rubles ($34,000), while the Paladin is said to cost upwards of $1.5 million.
