This song is about missing someone you loved and who loved you with all their heart. It's about the fragility of life, the delicate, fine beauty. What's the point of it all? Does it matter? The Sanskrit is from verse 4 of Shankara's Bhaja Govinda, an exquisite composition. I love the syllables, the dental sounds, how the trip off the teeth and tongue and are as delicate as the tender water droplets they describe. The mantra that closes the song is very special - in fact, I find Sanskrit phrases to be mantric in their ability to cross over the mind, cross over the thought realm to quietude, and this phrase I first discovered when studying Pānini, the great Sanskrit grammarian, whose work is considered by some to be the 8th wonder of the world! The general meaning behind it, is in cessation of something, that stop, that is rest. 🎵composed by Gaiea 🎵 from the Gaiea Sanskrit album Does it matter
