Santa Esmeralda was a French studio project by Nicolas Skorsky & Jean-Manuel de Scarano who had a massive hit in 1977 with Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, featuring Leroy Gomez' fiery vocals. Jimmy Goings fronted the group on the second album House Of The Rising Sun, 1978, which successfully followed the same formula as Misunderstood, fusing rock, disco & flamenco on a side-long suite. Their instrumental track Sevilla Nights was included in the film Thank God It's Friday. Their third album, Beauty, was released just five months after House Of The Rising Sun, but the sinister album failed to produce any hits. After a successful tour in South America, the group was back in the studio in 1979 recording the rousing Another Cha Cha, 14 minutes of hot blazing Latin music, and a track that became very popular in the clubs in the summer of 1979.
