In 1945, Khazakh composer Latif Khamidi wrote music for the “Songs of Abai” film and composed the “Bulbul” (Nightingale) song. This song-romance ended up becoming one of the most popular works of the composer. One day Artun and I were having a Skype call, brainstorming ideas to create something unique together. I remembered a song I had listened to as a child with my father, and I remember it being one of his favorite childhood songs. I shared it with Artun, and we both got inspired to create a version of our own. It was originally written for orchestra and voice, but thanks to Artun's brilliance, he created a piano arrangement for this incredible work. We hope you like it as much as we enjoyed performing it!
