Storm Kathleen hits the UK and Ireland. This is the eleventh named storm of the season. Storm Kathleen brought high winds and the warmest day of the year. Wind gusts of more than 112 km/h affected many areas. Large waves have been recorded in coastal areas. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind. The worst impacts of the storm were felt in the north-west and south-west of England, as well as parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The storm damaged buildings, caused power outages and made travel difficult. Around 12,000 customers were left without electricity in Ireland. Also part of the roof of the Titanic Museum in Belfast was damaged by the hurricane. Around 140 flights were canceled at airports including Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Belfast.
