Made a few weeks before the 2020 BLM Uprising for Hamburg International Short Film Festival. Dedicated to Anna and Aldo who have housed me and given me freedom to make art work and help Aldo with his work. Living amongst Aldo's best pieces. Using an iPhone camera roll to relive the time before the pandemic with my grandparents. Digital past. Reflecting on the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and the police cover up. Visualizing white privilege and supremacy as an infection. Reflecting on my daughter. Reflecting on the death of young Eli Hayes and some of his work. Painting fixated on occupying hypercube spaces - phenomenological experience of human containment - opening into spiral spaces. Painting fixated on flesh, muscle, infection, vengeance, Black/White Jesus, fire, revolution. Movies as storage container for information in experiential space, metastasis of digital information from iPhone camera roll pictures strung together in layers and layers allowing automated processes. Offset blending timespace at different perspectives repeatedly strobing back and forth in some cases creates the experience of falling in and expanding out. Continued interest in burning down White institutions and their related houses; masturbating to nothingness and gnashing into space. The cypher is full of holes - and you peak your head through to see how you can manipulate what’s on the other side. Still laparoscopic surgeons play video games better than you n00bs. Troll culture is normal. white privilege is normal. The white super id wants to emerge from its pimple.
