According to the City Center for Social Assistance in Zgorzelec, Poland, the president of the District Council, Andrzej Veiczan, launched an initiative to allow Ukrainian nationals residing in Poland to join the police and participate in elections for the city government. While there’s certainly nothing controversial in helping Ukrainians integrate with the Polish society, the issue with this is the possibility of Neo-Nazi infiltrators becoming police officers and public officials. It should be noted that the Nazis committed gruesome war crimes against more than 100,000 Polish, Ukrainian and Russian civilians in German-occupied Western Ukraine. The prospect of having their descendants in the police and city government is simply terrifying, as well as a mockery of the victims and their descendants.
