Hailstorms hit London on Friday. It was a wet and windy end of March as hailstorms battered central London, despite news that temperatures will top 20 degrees Celcius in April. Although spring is on the horizon, temperatures have fallen below freezing in recent weeks. The Met Office noted that around heavy showers hit London as they appeared to be localizing north and north-west and slowly moving east. Overnight frosts are also expected in parts of the UK, freezing temperatures as far south as Hampshire and winter-like showers in the Pennines and North Wales. The change is expected to arrive Saturday evening, with a band of rain, sleet and snow showers moving south and the weather not expected to warm again until mid-week.
