Tim Minchin and Richard Dawkins in Conversation

Richard Dawkins presents the 2021 Richard Dawkins Award to celebrated musician and comedian Tim Minchin before a sold-out crowd in Oxford, England. Tim Minchin has used his famous songs, comedy, and brilliant satire to not only entertain, but to open minds to science and expose the folly of pseudoscience and superstition. Dawkins gave a soaring and touchingly personal tribute to the awardee, calling him “a staunch upholder of rationalism, secularism, and scientific skepticism.” The two engage in a frank discussion about Minchin’s work, his views on religiosity, atheism, and nonbelief, the impact his work has had around the world, and much more! The Richard Dawkins Award has been presented annually since 2003. Past winners have included philosopher and cognitive scientist Daniel Dennett, activist and feminist Ayaan Hirsi Ali, actor and writer Stephen Fry, and stand-up comedian and actor Ricky Gervais.
