Israel’s “entire economy will go on strike” on Monday in a bid to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu into accepting a Gaza ceasefire deal after six hostages were shot dead. Arnon Bar-David, the head of the Histadrut labour union, on Sunday called for “all civilian workers” to join the strike, which is expected to last one day, though could be extended beyond Monday.
