Transport was blocked, with vehicles becoming submerged under water and some residents using boats to travel. Houses were damaged due to the volume of water, with supporting walls and furnishings being affected. The bad weather follows a pattern of heavy rain hitting areas surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, with heavy flooding seen during November in Southern Europe and Northern Africa.
