The play might be called Othello but all the writing is about Iago, and while we might have identified with Luke Skywalker who dreamed of an exciting life beyond his humdrum moisture farming life, if we’re being honest we were really in it for Darth Vader. Even when it comes to the good guys it’s the roguish bad boy that gets the girl. Well, it was Luke’s sister so that would have been weird. But Han really is the lady’s choice. The only thing that we like more than bad guys is redemption arcs. Bad guys with redemption arcs?
