FIA WEC 2024 - Spa-Francorchamps - Test Session - BMW M Hybrid V8

BMW Motorsport has officially announced it’s return to FIA WEC in 2024 to compete in a newly formed top category - LMH (Le Mans Hypercar). In order to build a corresponding prototype which would be able to match it’s rivals race pace, BMW Motorsport cooped with Dallara - an automotive company with a complex experience in chassis production. An extensive effort was also put into engine selection & setup - a naturally aspirated V8 was taken from BMW Motorsport DTM 2018 project, where it used to power BMW M4 DTM race car. As a result of this cooperation, BMW M Hybrid V8 was manufactured and has undergone a number of endurance tests at Belgian Spa-Francorchamps racing circuit as part of preparation activities for the next year’s season.
