This is a hojo undo (supplementary training) exercise for some tuidi (seizing hand) techniques found in Naihanchi. In this video, I am doing the exercise with a lightly padded 5lb iron bar, but you can also use a jo (4ft staff), bo (6ft staff), or even a broom handle to start with. You can work up to heavier bars over time.
