US Military Completes Withdrawal From Last Drone Base in Niger | Firstpost Africa The United States military has completed its withdrawal from air base 201 in Niger. The completion marks the end of the United States’ counterterrorism mission in the country. The drone base was strategic for the U.S., that costed up to $110 million. In March this year, Niger requested us to withdraw troops from the country. The U.S. was given a deadline of mid-September. Nearly 800 soldiers pulled out of a base in the capital Niamey in early July, as the remaining 200 have now exited. Niger under military rule has drifted away from the traditional Western allies, and has forged closer ties with Russia, Turkiye, and Iran. --- Niger | US | US Military | Drone Base | US Troops | Firstpost Africa | Alyson Le Grange | Africa | Global South | Geopolitics | Military Coup | Environment | Climate Change | Firstpost | News Live | World News | Latest News | Global News | International News | News | Trending News #niger #usa #usmilitary #ustroops #firstpostafrica #africa #alysonlegrange #globalsouth #militarycoup #firstpost #newslive #worldnews #latestnews #globalnews #news #internationalnews #trendingnews Firstpost is an Indian news and media website.
