Catford, London. Several shots of corrugated white sculptures in a garden. Various shots show sculptor Brian Wilshire inspecting another carved wooden sculpture that is placed in the branches of a tree. We see Brian at work on the band saw that he uses to create his sculptures; he guides blocks of wood through the saw to slice out circular shapes. He then slots several 'slices' together and concertinas the object out as commentator tells us “Most of his work includes some form of spiralling effect, achieved by cutting the segments at an angle“. M/S of a sculpture in the garden; using stop motion, more sections of carved wood are added. Note: on file is correspondence about the story; a note from Brian Wilshire states “I describe them as 'things'.“ Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
