Marco Smaili confesses that this piece is “the story of a lie, that feels so real! It is the communicating vessel of all love stories, all kisses emitted in mezzopiano and all the secrets in doorways. It is the crude recreation of beatifully mutilated love in pursuit of a drama that never manifests itself in real life“. This work is the most intimate composition of Marco Smaili. Here, the composer typifies his language through a process of metric liberation and exploration of timbre. The atmosphere is an evocation of the poetry of the photographer, Gloria Marco, while the structural idea is taken from a tale of James Joyce (The Dead). Finally, a scene from Dreams by Akira Kurosawa inspired the gesture and rhythm of the piece. The work was awarded the III Manuel de Falla International Guitar Composition Contest. Guitar: Àlex Garrobé. The clip has been filmed by Francisco Jódar Gómez at the atelier of artist Xavier Masero. #classicalguitar #
