Watch live as Chileans march to support the victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza. Up to 400,000 people remain in north Gaza as Israel steps up its military offensive in the area. US special envoy David Satterfield said that between 800,000 and a million people had fled since the war broke out. Speaking to reports in Jordan, he said 400,000 had still not left, despite calls by Israel for residents to evacuate to the south of the Gaza Strip. It came after Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls by the US and other Western countries for a humanitarian pause in the war to allow aid and other supplies into Gaza. The Israeli prime minister warned that the military would continue its bombardment “full steam ahead” until Hamas released more than 240 hostages.
