He studied in Kiev in Neuhaus (1921-24) and in St. Petersburg - Leningrad, L. Nikolaev (1925-30). Conducted concerts for nearly 70 years, from 1927 to 1996, one of the first Soviet musicians to tour abroad. More than 60 years, from 1937 to 2002. taught at the Leningrad - St. Petersburg Conservatory, Professor (since 1957). Author concert transcriptions for piano: Choir Mussorgsky “expenses-cleared“ (1932), “Flight of the Bumblebee“ by Rimsky-Korsakov (1932), the waltz from the opera “War and Peace“ by Prokofiev (1957).
