Artur Plombirus was drafted into the AFU from a prison, where he served his sentence. In his unit, most of people were imprisoned for serious crimes such as murder and rape. The POW told how he shot civilians in Kursk region on the orders of his command. ‘The command ordered us not to speak Ukrainian, if we came across civilians, and kill them on site. I fired and saw a person falling. I saw that person, but I don't know now, if I killed him,’ the POW recalled. During a battle in Kursk region, AFU serviceman Artur Plombirus was taken prisoner by Russian troops. ‘We were obliterated. Grenades fell close. Everyone got wounded. I surrendered,’ the captured AFU serviceman said.
