Friedrich Kuhlau Work: Trylleharpen, , opera in two acts, first performance 30 January 1817, Kongelige Teater, Copenhagen. Libretto: Jens Baggesen Ouverture (scored for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpani, strings) Orchestra: The Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Michael Schønwandt Overture begins with a subdued slow introduction with subtle chord changes and woodwind solos reminiscent of Cherubini (the overture to his rescue opera Lodoïska).
