Visit Visit our website A Thirtyfive-Sixteen Production, this 80s film titled “In Their Shoes” acted as promotional material for the Peace Corps. This 12-minute film follows the lives of four Peace Corps volunteers serving in a Spanish-speaking Latin American or Caribbean country. The film uses voice over narration and footage of nature and towns to illustrate the positive impact serving in the Peace Corps has on its volunteers as well as the volunteers’ impact on their host country. The film was directed by Frank A. Maniglia, written by Robert Denny, Photographed by George Voellmer while Lee Anderson and Frank Maniglia Jr. oversaw editing and sound production. The Peace Corps is an independent agency and volunteer program run by the United States Government providing international social and economic development assistance. The program was established by Executive Order 10924 issued by John F. Kennedy in 1961 and authorized by Congress in the same year through the Peace Corps Act. Volunteers are American citizens who work abroad for two years following three months of training. Farmers and Ox tend to and plow land (0:10). Scenic nature views and towns (0:28-1:26).
