Sniper pairs of Russian paratroopers daily destroy especially important targets, enemy manpower, providing support to airborne assault groups in one of the border areas of the Kursk region. Sniper pairs pay special attention to camouflage of the position. For this purpose, servicemen use thermal imaging capes and closed-type muzzle brakes-compensators, which disperse the sound of the shot and dampen the flash. Snipers are also assisted by modern sights, which allow increasing the effectiveness of shooting due to greater magnification, measuring the distance to the target, an accurate rangefinder, and the location of the aiming angle input scale in the sight’s field of view. After taking into account and comparing all the factors that influence the sniper’s shooting, such as wind direction, distance to the target and others, the second number gives target designation, and the first opens fire to kill. The first shot, from a distance of more than 1000 meters, destroys the enemy. Next, the sniper pair quickly changes their firing position and continues to fire accurately. Airborne Forces snipers have been taking part in special military operations since day one.
