Terry’s Theme from “Limelight” (Chaplin) by Frank Chacksfield & his Orchestra Charlie Chaplin’s bittersweet 1952 film “Limelight” featured an award-winning musical score composed, in part, by Chaplin himself. The melody associated with the Claire Bloom character Thereza became known as “Terry’s Theme,” and it was this top-10 orchestral instrumental by British conductor Frank Chacksfield that was most frequently heard during the summer of ’53. A popular vocal treatment titled “Eternally” was recorded by Vic Damone and is also included in this collection, as is Chacksfield’s famous follow-up release “Ebb Tide.” THE 1953 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs that made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1953 (some were recorded in 1952). . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The three* MusicProf channels are home to The HITS ARCHIVES, YouTube’s most comprehensive collection of U.S. ‘popular music’ recordings from 1925 thru 1975.
