Chaim Tauber was born on 14 June 1901. in Molive (Mogilev-Podolsky, Podolia, now Ukraine). His father was a poor tailor. Tauber studied in cheder, and later - in a commercial school. He participated in Mogilev-Podolsky society “Di Yiddish bine“ under the direction of Burekh Mozshvitsa.
