The second song form the upcoming album. Žьrtva is the Proto-Slavic word for sacrifice. According to historical sources, sacrifices to the gods and various natural elements were very common among the ancient Slavs. As with other Indo-European cultures, material offerings most often consisted of food, drink, animals and personal stuff. Human sacrifices were documented among the Polabian Slavs, however, according to archaeological researches, there were occasional human sacrifices throughout the old Slavic world. The speech in the song and its title are fully in the late Proto-Slavic language, which was a common Slavic language spoken by the Slavs in the 6th - 9th centuries. Since it is a reconstructed language, in some cases we do not know how certain sounds were exactly pronounced. Using sounds of traditional and early medieval instruments, live percussions, drums and vocals with combination of little influence of modern music makes Zbava's production energic, hard-hitting and spiritual at the same time. Trying to capture the feeling from the ancient deities, traditions and places, many of which have survived to present day. #slavic #slavicmusic #paganmusic #ritual #ritualmusic #shamanicmusic #ambient #ambientmusic #darkfolk #neofolk #pagan #paganfolk #medievalmusic #ambientmusic #slavs #folktronica #protoslavic #darkfolk #czech #czechmusic pagan, pagans, paganism, heathen, folk, neofolk, folktronica, ambient, Slav, Slavs, Slavic folk, Slavic music, Slavic paganism, ancient Slavic culture, Slavic mythology, Slavic tribes, Czech music, medieval music, early medieval, ritual, Zbava, Perun, Veles, Svarog, Svarožic, Radegast, Mokoš, Morana, Vesna, Jarovít, Jarilo, Svantovít, Polednice, Slované, slovanská kultura, pohanství, Proto-Slavic, ancient Slavic language, praslovanština
