Founded by Princess Augusta in 1759, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew showcases the world’s largest collection of living plants. Its gardens and glasshouses on the site of the former summer residence of George III give visitors access to an intimate royal palace and a glorious place to discover history, art, and science. Inscribed as a UNESCO site in 2003, the gardens have made a significant and uninterrupted contribution to the study of plant diversity and economic botany since their creation.
