The CBC recently published a story about how Putin is controlling the news media in order to strengthen his own political position. This coming from Canada’s State Broadcaster who has a reputation for being the propaganda arm of Trudeau’s government. While Trudeau’s brand of controlling the media might be a kinder, gentler version of Putin’s, their underlying intent of controlling the media to maintain their political power is largely similar. Meanwhile, Canada’s newly minted Heritage Minister, Pablo Rodriguez, announces a new bill, Bill C-11, that would give the federal government more control over online media. What ever could go wrong?
