“Friday, 1 September On stage 7 it looks tempting for the sprinters. The stage leads over a good 200 kilometres from Utiel to Oliva, a coastal town south of Valencia. 80 kilometres before the finish, the Vuelta crosses the ““orange city““ of Valencia, after which the riders ride along the Mediterranean coast. The entire stage leads through the province of Valencia. After the start in the wine town of Utiel, the first part of the route is undulating to hilly. Nevertheless, the route is predominantly (slightly) downhill in the direction of Valencia. After crossing the city - not through the centre - the second half of the route is as flat as can be. And that also applies to the finale. The finish in Oliva is next to the Parque natural del Marjal de Pego-Oliva, a marshy area surrounded by rice fields. In short, it doesn't get much flatter than there. Oliva is on the Mediterranean Sea and can look forward to large crowds of bathers in summer. They will probably still be there on 1 September.“ ( & Routes 'n' Maps 'n' Flags) Creating cycling stage animations requires a lot of work and computing power.
