“Lady-Mentor” (“Gwascheghase”), traditional comic Circassian dance music performed by famous Circassian accordion player from Adigea Aslan Tlebzu. Shot in Jordan: Wadi Rum, Petra, and Amman. Features Circassian horsemen from Jordan. Produced by One Light Studio. “Gwascheghase” is an ancient comic piece of music and dance. It was lost in Circassia after the end of the Circassian-Russian War in 1864 (as was most of Circassian musical heritage). It was however preserved by the emigrant Circassians who eventually settled in Jordan starting in 1878. It was rediscovered by musicologists from Circassia on their expeditions in the Diaspora in search of lost heritage in the late 20th century.
