Collapse, directed by Chris Smith, is an American documentary film exploring the risks and chances we face at the end of the age of oil, which IEA chief Fatih Birol estimates will be around 2020, unless radical change occurs. It features Michael Ruppert (1951-2014), author of the 2004 book “Crossing the Rubikon - the decline of the american empire at the end of the age of oil.“ Collapse premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2009 to positive reviews.
