All Japan Pro Wrestling Nippon Budokan - World Junior Heavyweight Championship ~ Tsuyoshi Kikuchi vs. Yoshinari Ogawa [c] All Japan’s junior heavyweight division began more as a reaction to New Japan, which has likely influenced many aspects of it, such as the amount of effort put into the booking, the role of the juniors themselves, so on and so forth. All that being said, Ogawa and Kikuchi stand as the two most popular juniors right now, going head to head. While people such as Tiger Mask or Liger got their acclaim through their performances in actual singles matches in Junior division, it would be fair to say that both these guys cut their teeth more being the sidekicks in the heavyweight main event tag matches. Whether you agree with that being a good thing or not, it’s lead to them being featured as the one-match-episode edition of the TV, which I’d say is pretty darn cool.
