Mount Anak Krakatoa experienced several eruptions today. The volcano has erupted dozens of times over the past two days. The height of the volcanic ash ranges from 200 to 2000 meters above the summit. The volcano's status remains at Alert Level 3. The volcanic eruption does not pose a threat to residents of the Lampung coast. Tourists are prohibited from approaching the volcano within a radius of 5 km from the crater. Recall that Indonesia is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire. This is an area of high seismic and volcanic activity. There are about 130 active volcanoes in the country.
