Layers of Fear is a game I have very fond memories of. It set Bloober Team on the map and many awesome horror games followed from that studio. Observer will always be my favorite game that they have released, but Layers of Fear is amazing as well. That's why I was pleasantly surprised to see a remake being announced on the Unreal Engine 5. And it makes the game look more beautiful and scarier than ever before! We return in the shoes of the painter who hides a dark past that involves his family. We need to gather various “ingredients“ for our most ambitious painting yet and in doing so we will go on a crazy journey that will take many twists and turns. The game still plays mostly the same as I remember with the exception of some chase sequences that were not in the original game. In this video I mainly focused on the original Layers of Fear, but with this 2023 remake there is also the second game included.
