And when comparing to other mixes, while looking at the spectrum analyzer I could see theirs was almost a flat mix and mine had a huge dip in the mid range, so I tried to work on that this week. I bought the Periphery Producer Packs months ago and I tried to recreate the guitar tone as close as I could, I recorded a short demo of Absolomb and to my ears it sounded almost as good, although slightly less polished than the original. The big change was my rhythm, it now has a lot more mid range to fill up the spectrum. I never really liked the boxy sound that the mids have and that's why I always avoided them, but to achieve a fully balanced mix you need them.
