The trial of Marine Le Pen and her fellow party members in the case of fictitious hiring of parliamentary assistants has begun in Paris. Le Pen, her father Jean-Marie Le Pen and 23 other party members are accused of “misuse of public funds“ of the EU. Allegedly they paid for parliamentary assistants who actually worked only for the party.
