Myanmar has an extensive metre gauge railway network, these days, entirely diesel operated. However, the railway has kept a large stock of steam locomotives, although only a handful are steamable. In and around Bago station there are still large numbers of semaphore signals, some still in working order. There are two attractive signal boxes, two signal gantries and lots of atmosphere.
