Here is a copy of the mega rare 1970 Privately Pressed UK LP `A Fleeting Glance`(AS 2324). Only a few copies of this are known to exist, Put together by members of The Aquila Social Club, it is a concept album telling the tale of a woman from birth to death. Its collectability comes from it`s Syd Barrett style noodlings. The album was made solely to raise money for a charitable cause and so only a limited number were ever pressed, all the musicians gave their time and effort for free. A copy sold in 2015 for £6,377 Why not subscribe as I post rarities regularly! Side 1 1. Theme Of The Beginning 0:00 2. Light My Fire 5:26 3. Rosetta 8:27 4. Fly To The Moon 12:17 Side 2 1. Watch The Stars 21:01 2. Tiger Rag 26:44 3. Symphony Of Love 30:04 4. Finale 35:45 A Fleeting Glance is a concept album and tells the story of a woman’s life from her own conception to giving birth, it was put together by a variety of musicians and bands at a social club, linked by narration and sound effects, the music contains space-rock jamming (including the riff from ‘Interstellar Overdrive’) to folk/rock (an acoustic cover of ‘Light My Fire’ and a stunning version of ‘Watch The Stars’), choirs, krautrock-styled interludes and even trad jazz. The result is very avante-garde/eccentric the sort of thing Syd Barrett would create. The opening track from uses a healthy portion of Steve Miller Band's “Song For Our Ancestors“.
