Butterfly Farm (1966)

Bexley, Kent. Several shots of wild flowers growing in a garden. A young man, Michael Dickens, picks some flowers and takes them into a house. Various shots show flowers and plants in a garden and greenhouse, being cultivated for butterfly food at this butterfly farm. Good C/Us of butterflies on flowers and furry brown caterpillars inching along leaves and nibbling on them. Michael takes some caterpillars from the greenhouse out into the garden and ties a muslin bag around them onto the branch of a tree; this way he can collect them when they're ready to go into the larval stage. Butterflies and moths are seen in bins in the garden; the top is covered by net, with cotton dipped in honey resting on the top as food.
