What if the Resonance Cascade at Black Mesa wasn't caused by Gordon Freeman but by the Spy himself? After Mann Co. learned about how much government funding Black Mesa was wasting, they were just forced to take action against the facility in regard to sabotage. So they sent the best asset available to fix the problem: the Spy. The task was simple: impersonate the MIT scientist Gordon Freeman and sabotage the Sector C test labs experiment whatever the cost. The Spy perfectly knew the dangers of his mission, but he also had a few tricks up his sleeve.
