Two terrorists carried out a bomb attack in front of Turkey’s Interior Ministry building in the capital Ankara on October 1, Turkish authorities said. Two police officers suffered injuries when one of the attackers blew himself up in front of the government establishment. The attackers arrived in a light commercial vehicle in front of the building’s entrance at about 9:30 AM local time, a Turkish Minister said. Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said the second “terrorist” was “neutralised” after the attack. Yerlikaya added that there was no life-threatening risk to police officers wounded in the attack. The suicide blast also damaged a guard tower in front of the entrance to the government building. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara’s bomb attack is the last remanents of terrorism in the country.
