Victoria police patrolling Altona Beach in Melbourne on Saturday, October 4, wrestled a woman to the ground after confronting members of a group who were not wearing masks. 9News reported that members of the group posted online about visiting the beach, which was 20km from their home, and that one woman was issued with infringement notices while a number of others were fined. Victorians were limited to traveling within 5km of their homes and required to wear masks due to Covid-19 restrictions, authorities reminded citizens on October 3, warning people not to ignore health advice due to warmer weather. This video was posted to Facebook by Luana Kokaua from Tarneit, west of Melbourne, who is the woman seen detained in the video. She said the video was taken by her niece and that her sister was the pregnant woman referred to in the video. Kokaua said she wasn’t wearing a mask after swimming. In the footage, a large group of masked and armed officers surround the beachgoers, who shout back at the police. One
